Leadership Team

Reverend Shawn T. Wallace Sr., son of Reverend Raymond and Sheila Wallace was born in Newark, New Jersey. Reverend Wallace is happily married to Carita Wallace and is the proud parent of one son, Shawn T. Wallace Jr.

Reverend Wallace began his ministry at the age of 19, when he responded to the voice of God and submitted his life to God’s work. He was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on August 7, 1994 by the Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. He was ordained in December of 1998 and was appointed the Assistant Pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in December of 1999.

On January 17, 2005, God moved on the hearts of the members of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church of Newark, New Jersey and led them to call Reverend Wallace as their Pastor. January 23, 2005, Reverend Wallace preached his first message as the newly elected Pastor of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church and has served faithfully since that day. Under his leadership PMBC has experienced tremendous growth numerically, financially and spiritually.

Reverend Wallace’s education includes graduating from Calvary Christian School and Science High School both of Newark, New Jersey; attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick New Jersey and graduating with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and African Studies. He has also earned credits towards a Masters of Divinity from Drew University Theological Seminary in Madison, New Jersey. Reverend Wallace has also received his Pastor’s Alternative Teaching Certification through the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

Reverend Wallace is active in the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. He serves as the Assistant Dean of Christian Education for the General Baptist State Convention of NJ and is the Congress of Christian Education President for the Shiloh Baptist Association.

Reverend Wallace has distinguished himself as an orator and has been the guest speaker for numerous organizations and Fortune 500 companies. He has been the guest revivalist, lecturer and instructor for a number of churches and church organizations.

Reverend Wallace believes that without God he could do nothing and without God he would fail, so the theme of hid life has become as the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, which states, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all of thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.”
